Seeking Nominations for the 2
nd
Annual Charlie Biss: Child, Youth, and Family Champion Award!
In honor of Charlie Biss and his Lifetime Achievements in Vermont’s Children’s Mental Health System of Care!
 
VT Federation of Families’ Board of Directors instituted an annual award in his honor last year.
Families, organizations, and individuals can nominate qualifying candidates for the 2019 Charlie Biss Child, Youth & Family Voice Champion Award.  
 
Charlie provided leadership and vision for 30 years and was an instrumental leader in the development of the System of Care for children in Vermont. His strength-based leadership directly impacted positive change in both Vermont and nationally. Charlie was a champion for family voice and a persistent advocate for prevention. His persistence helped established these core values in our system of care. He was a pioneer for Wraparound Services and dedicated to making community-based supports available to all Vermonters.
 
Please nominate a person who exemplifies leadership in Child, Youth & Family Voice. 
Eligibility to be nominated
 
  1. The nominee has made a significant contribution to children’s mental health. 
  2. The nominee’s work and/or support reflect the values of the Vermont Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health & the National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health.  
  3. The nominee has contributed to the philosophy or practice of strengths-based care
  4. The nominee has contributed to the philosophy or practice of family voice and choice. 
  5. The nominee has demonstrated compassion for children, youth, and families.

Nominations Deadline: 5pm ET on July 31, 2019  
 
The Award will be presented to the winner on September 26, 2019 at the 5
th
Annual (Local Interagency Team) LIT Meeting hosted by the State Interagency Team.
