Happy Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day! 
 
May is Mental Health Awareness month there is so many events happening this month!   
 
Yesterday we were on Church Street in Burlington meeting new friends and seeing old friends again. We had a blast sharing smiles with everyone. We shared balloons and some swag with all who walked by. 
 
We were also at the Waterbury State Office Complex lobby sharing the powerful messages: Children’s Mental Health Matters, Talk about Mental Health and Suicide Prevention: Strategies that work. 
 
All month long we will be sharing many resources and encouragement for families. This month and every month, we need to talk about it. Mental Health Matters! Visit us on Facebook and Instagram for lots of information.

Check our
facebook pagethroughout the month! It’s a great way to stay up to date about our events and we try to post something for families everyday. Here’s what we’re looking forward to sharing with you throughout May!

Check out these videos
from the Child Mind Institute! They teamed up with various celebrities to make videos to fight mental health stigma and give advice based on lived experience. We’ll be sharing a different one of these videos every day for the rest of the month!
We’ll also be sharing information from the Vermont Suicide Prevention Center’s
UMatter website
throughout the month. It has great resources for helping youth and young adults talk about suicide and prevent suicide.
UMatter trainings
are available throughout the year for school personnel, mental health clinicians, law enforcement, medical personnel, families, and community members.
Mental Health Awareness Month Events!
Congratulations to the recipients of our Children’s Mental Health Week Event Grants!
Northwestern Counseling & Support Services (NCSS)
is hosting their 3rd Annual Health and Wellness Day for the students at SOAR Learning Center in partnership with Rise VT to promote the Mental and Physical health and wellness in families, children, and youth inFranklin and Grand Isle Counties
.

Lamoille County Mental Health (LCMH)
is hosting their Annual Children’s Wellness Day.This day is held is to families and clients reduce the stigma around mental health services by creating fun, healthy, and engaging activities that help families and their children learn and practice essential skills to help foster resiliency.

VFFCMH
celebrated with tables at the Waterbuy AHS lobby and Church Street in Burlington for Children’s Mental Health Day on Thursday. We got to connect with many communities members and spread the importance of children’s mental health! This is one of our favorite events during the year and we can’t wait until next year!
Leadership Opportunities!
Want to help families like yours? We have leadership opportunities for parents who want to be Local Interagency Team Parent Representatives or Parent Support Providers or both!
We are looking for Parent Support Providers in the St. Albans and Brattleboro regions and Local Interagency Team Parent Representatives in the St. Johnsbury, Newport, and Springfield regions. If you’re interested please contact us for more information at 1-800-639-6071 or vffcmh@vffcmh.org.
